This HTML tutorial explains how to use the HTML element called the b tag with syntax and examples.
Description
The HTML b tag merely gives text a bold appearance but does not provide any semantic meaning to the text. This tag is also commonly referred to as the b element.
TIP: The HTML b tag should not be confused with the strong tag which gives text a strong emphasis.
Attributes
Only the Global Attributes apply to the b tag. There are no attributes that are specific to the b tag.
Note
The HTML b element is found within the body tag.
The b tag is used to bold text but does not put emphasis on the text like the strong tag does.
In most cases, it is recommended that you use the strong tag rather than the b tag.

Note: The HTML 5 specification reminds developers that other elements are almost always more appropriate than u.
Differences Between HTML 4.01 and HTML5
The u element was deprecated in HTML 4.01. (the u element was used to define underlined text).
The u element is redefined in HTML5, to represent text that should be stylistically different from normal text, such as misspelled words or proper nouns in Chinese.
